1. Promote research on gender issues.
2. Develop methodology tools to support the integration of gender curriculum dimensions for Ahmadu Bello University.
3. Evolve sustainable gender policies and facilitate implementation specifically on;

a) Admissions, recruitment and promotion,

b) Career choice and vocational development,

c) Management and governance,

d) Leadership responsibilities and

e) Social adaptations.

4. Promote dialogue and reduce gender stereotyping through consultations,
5. Promote advocacy and community sensitization for gender mainstreaming,
6. Promote sessions in knowledge sharing, skills and experiences in gender development,
7. Establish bench marks for measuring and monitoring progress in gender mainstreaming,
8. Facilitate national and international collaborations,
9. Create a geo-data base for gender mainstreaming and planning,
10. Retrieve and decode data for medium and long term plans.
